Added the following new roads on MotorcycleRoads.US:
1) Idaho: CR P1 - "Nice change of pace from the sweepers on Hwy 12."
2) Indiana: SR 164 - "Plenty of curves, plenty of scenery."
3) Maine: North Road - Follows along the north bank of the Androscoggin River. US 2 parallels the south bank.
4) Pennsylvania: SR 858 - "858 is in the middle of nowhere going to nowhere....but it's awesome."
5) Texas: FM 179 - Close to Lubbock, the area is "known for its wild boars to be out after dark."
6) Virginia: SR 693 - "...a 1.5 lane wide, twisty, scenic ride along the New River."
7) West Virginia: Smoke Hole Road - A twisty (partially unpaved) route through the Spruce Knob Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area.

New Roads
Added the following new roads on MotorcycleRoads.US:
1) Arizona: FR 545 - a nice loop off of US 89 north pf Flagstaff. Goes through Sunset Crater Volcano and Wupatki National Monuments.
2) California: SR 158 - AKA June Lake Loop, SR 158 is east of Yosemite National Park off of US 395.
3) Maine: US 202 - "It was a great ride, the road was smooth and wide...". A great alternative to I-95.
4) North Carolina: SR 261 - an out of the way twisty "Gem".
5) Oregon: US 197 - "The scenery is classic central Oregon." Ideal for touring.
6) Pennsylvania: SR 897 - "A great ride with alot of variety." Runs n-s through the heart of Dutch Country.
7) Washongton: Chiwawa Road - "Nice scenery and typically very light traffic."

Vermont Route 100
Vermont 100 may be one of the most renowned motorcycle roads in New England. I had the opportunity to ride it for the first time on a 132 mile segment from Waterbury to Wilmington. With it's beautiful scenery, wonderful small towns along the way, and nice sweeping curves, VT 100 is a route you can learn to love. However, it did DISAPPOINT!
The primary reason for this disappointment were the road conditions. Throughout the segment I rode, the pavement was uneven and the asphalt was deteriorating with cracks and the onset of potholes. These conditions took much away from the enjoyment of the ride. There was no evidence of any effort on the part of the Vermont Department of Transportation to correct these problems. If Vermont has a hard 09-10 winter, VT 100 will require a major effort to correct the road conditions. I hope that this does not happen.
If you do ride VT 100, you will have to spend some effort avoiding the cracks and dealing with the uneven pavement. On a group ride, I suggest you ride in file formation with riders following the track of the leader.
I would like to get back to VT 100, but, for now I'll seek out other good roads to ride.
